This is a key image from a university project as part of my Architecture degree entitled 'connecting community.' The brief was to design a scheme which will be part of a masterplan to revive the Salisbury city centre. Salisbury is a medieval historic town in the South of England.
The scheme is designed around the concept of connecting the local vibrant music community to tourism and other cultures. The site was the salt lane car park to the north of the city - a pretty big space. A music school, stages, performing and community facilities wrap around the site and focus on the central courtyard with a central stage in the middle which is open to anyone to perform.
This detail shows the key link between the development wrapping around the edge of the site and the transition between the building and the central main stage.
